The Bureau of Reclamation, in cooperation with the Arizona Department of Water Resources (ADWR) and the Central Arizona Water Conservation District (CAWCD), has prepared a draft environmental assessment (DEA) to act upon the recommendation by ADWR for the proposed reallocation of 46,629 acre-feet annually (AFA) of non-Indian agricultural (NIA) priority water to municipal and industrial (M&I) users in the Phoenix, Pinal, and Tucson Active Management Areas (AMAs) within the Central Arizona Project (CAP) service area.

Reclamation seeks public input on the DEA, including the potential impacts of the proposed action and other substantive concerns or comments on the DEA. All comments on the DEA will be considered prior to making a final decision on whether to approve the proposed reallocations. To be most helpful, comments should be as specific as possible.
