The Shasta Dam Visitor Center is open Friday through Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and closed on Wednesday and Thursday.
Shasta Dam and Powerplant Tour with a Tour Guide
Reclamation Guides will be offering tours of Shasta Dam Friday through Tuesday (no tours on Wednesday and Thursday). Please call 530-247-8500 for the most up to date information and tour times. The free tour will include a walk across the top of the dam, an elevator ride down 400 feet, and a short walk through the dam to a stunning view of the spillway. A tour of the Shasta Powerplant is included. Reclamation guides share the rich history of Shasta Dam, how it was built, and the important role it plays in the Central Valley Project. The tours will be offered on a first come, first service basis and tickets are handed out one hour in advance. They are also limited to 20 people per tour.
