Reclamation's Lower Colorado Region HazMat Office provides technical and regulatory expertise and coordination for a number of programs concerning air and water quality, emergency response, hazardous waste disposal, and occupational safety and health.

Services we provide:

  • Responding to and cleaning-up toxic spills on the lower Colorado River, Reclamation property, and other locations within Lower Colorado Region boundaries,

  • Assisting in maintaining standards established in federal, state and local environment regulations,

  • Coordinating and overseeing Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) requirements as required by environmental laws, and

  • Auditing Reclamation programs for environmental compliance.

Through the use of a comprehensive Environmental Management system (EMS) (as set forth in Executive Order 13423) and to ensure effective environmental stewardship, this office also enhances the Region’s sustainability, recycling, and energy management goals and objectives.
