O&M Cost Index
The Asset Management Division calculates the Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Cost Index for Reclamation-wide use. The cost trend index is used by O&M personnel for estimating O&M costs for the previous year. The index is also used by water user entities to estimate O&M costs for contracting or other purposes. The index is developed from most current prior-year data from the Engineering NewsRecord using the "Construction Cost Index History." An average annual rate of change is used to determine the O&M Cost Index for a given year.
