Voluntary consensus standards from non-Reclamation sources.

Reclamation employees serve on a wide variety of technical committees for the purpose of developing and maintaining industry standards. These standards provide a consistency of standard practice across a wide variety of engineering disciplines. The adoption of industry standards reduces the effort required to develop and maintain Reclamation standards where industry standards have not yet been developed.
