Spring Management of Spawning Locations

As part of the Record of Decision (ROD) signed by the Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) in February 2020 for the Reinitiation of Consultation on the Coordinated Long-Term Operations of the Central Valley Project (CVP) and State Water Project (SWP), Reclamation is coordinating with NMFS to establish experiments to refine the state of the science regarding spring temperature management of spawning location. Reclamation is coordinating with NMFS to evaluate if keeping water colder during April and May induces earlier spawning or if keeping April and May Sacramento River temperatures warmer induces later spawning.
