Water Conservation In The CGB Region
Who we are and what we do:
Reclamation uses federal funds to encourage water conservation projects and studies and projects throughout the CGB region. Through such funds we work with our customers and stakeholders to:
- Optimize the beneficial use of water resources including groundwater, recycled/reused water, and surface water,
- Educate the public about the opportunities for and the benefits of water conservation in the context of watershed management,
- Document successful practices and future actions through Water Management Plans, and
- Be leaders in water conservation.
Federal funds are available through multiple programs including the Agricultural Water Conservation Program, the CalFed Water Use Efficiency Program, and the Water Sustain and Manage America’s Resources for Tomorrow (WaterSMART) Program.
