    The Snow Water Supply Forecasting Program aims to enhance snow monitoring and subsequent water supply forecasts to the benefit of water management. The Program uses external grant opportunities to help achieve this goal. Eligible applicants include water districts, irrigation districts, water associations, universities, State agencies,  private sector entities, non-governmental organizations, and any combination of the entities listed above.

    Snow Water Supply Forecasting Program: Funding Available

    (March 6, 2026) The Bureau of Reclamation is seeking proposals for projects advancing snow monitoring and water supply forecasting. Up to $6.5 million is available. Each selected project is eligible to receive between $300,000 - $999,999 and must include aerial LiDAR snow surveys. The funding opportunity is available at www.grants.gov by searching for funding opportunity number R25AS00210. Applications are due on May 5, 2026 at 4 p.m. MDT.
