Law Enforcement Delegation

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Bureau of Reclamation and the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation Tribal Police Department was executed in March 2015. The purpose of the MOU is to prescribe the procedures and guidelines for designating law enforcement authority on Reclamation lands in designated areas within the Colville Reservation boundaries to improve public safety and for the protection of important and valuable resources through increasing law enforcement coverage.

At the request of the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation, the Bureau of Reclamation is delegating authority to enforce federal laws on Reclamation lands within the exterior boundary of the Colville Reservation to certified Tribal police officers. This delegation does not include enforcement of any hunting, fishing or boating regulations or laws.
