Boulder City, Nev. – On Jan. 22, from midnight through 8 a.m. Mountain Standard Time (MST), hourly releases at Davis Dam, north of Laughlin, Nevada, will be reduced to approximately 2,300 cubic feet per second, down from the normal low operating flow for this time of year of about 4,600 cfs. Reclamation is reducing the flow to enable construction activities downstream from Davis Dam.
River users below the dam should exercise extra caution throughout the Laughlin/Bullhead City area during this period. Lower morning river water levels may temporarily expose or create hazards such as sand and gravel bars, and unstable riverbanks. Floating or submerged debris may also pose potential hazards until the river returns to normal flow release levels.
Daily and hourly information on releases from Reclamation's Colorado River dams is available on Reclamation's web site, at https://www.usbr.gov/lc/riverops.html.
