The Engineering Services Office (ESO) provides engineering design, construction, and other technical services to Reclamation, other Federal agencies, and public entities in accord with Reclamation’s mission to manage, develop, and protect water and related resources in an environmentally and economically sound manner in the interest of the American public.

ESO’s services include project management; field investigations, examinations, and analysis; surveying, mapping and geomatic engineering; design data collection; appraisal, feasibility, and final designs; specification and drawings development; cost estimating; pre-award and post-award acquisition activities; contract administration; construction program development incorporating work planning and critical path scheduling; construction management; field engineering; and construction quality assurance including site and source inspection and testing.

In addition to these traditional engineering and construction deliverables, ESO’s services also include safety and occupational health management, emergency management, examination of existing infrastructure, and dam safety.

Our staff includes engineers, technicians, and other subject matter experts required to successfully provide our services and maintain our core competencies and critical expertise.

Success means to fully satisfy all project and program requirements safely, efficiently, with transparency, and with accountability. To do so, activities are managed to deliver products within scope, on schedule and within budget.
