Real Time Canal Monitoring - Sponsored by: Strawberry Highline Canal Company
The Strawberry Highline Canal Company of Payson, Utah, is a private not-for-profit organization that distributes water from the Strawberry Valley Project and the Central Utah Project to users in south Utah County, Utah. The company implemented real-time monitoring and control to improve water deliveries to irrigators and municipalities along the Highline Canal. The WCFSP provided 50 percent of funding required to add four selective automation sites to the real-time system. These sites provide canal managers with information from all critical points along the canal. In addition, the base station hardware information from all critical points along the canal. In addition, the base station hardware and software were updated and improved.
