Research Question
What are the challenges that the Lower Platte River Basin presents for Reclamation's water resource managers?
Need and Benefit
The Lower Platte River Basin presents a unique set of challenges for Reclamation's water resources managers--particularly as they relate to the interactions between surface water, ground water and water quality. Stakeholders and other partnering entities are very interested in tools which may be presently available--or might be developed to deal with these issues.
This scoping proposal will evaluate these needs and present the results in the form of a report with recommendations.
Decisionmaking on the Lower Platte system involves distribution of releases from upstream Reclamation reserovirs and dealing with long time stakeholders--which is inherently a Reclamation responsibility
