Minidoka Irrigation District Title Transfer

The Minidoka Irrigation District (MID) operates and maintains the Minidoka Gravity Division (MGD), built by Reclamation between 1905 and 1915. The system was then turned over to MID in 1916. Other facilities were added to the system over time including drains and pumphouses to facilitate the movement of water through areas serviced by the MGD. Reclamation recognizes the importance of these historic facilities, not only to move water, but also in telling the story of the Mini-Cassia area. Additionally, Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act requires the federal government to take into consideration actions that might affect important historic resources by their projects. Click here for more information on the history of these facilities and to learn more about the Section 106 process.
