Odessa Ground Water Replacement Program Radial Gates

With the addition of the new siphons in the East Low Canal, seven radial gate structures are necessary to help control the increased flow.

Reclamation’s Technical Service Center designed the new radial gate and hoists structures for the radial gates project. In 2016, the East Columbia Basin Irrigation District administered the contract for the purchase and fabrication of the gates, hoists, and control panels. The district also conducted the installation.

In 2019, Reclamation purchased the remaining five radial gates, hoists, and control panels. They are as follows:

Reclamation administered the contract for the purchase and fabrication of the gates, hoists, and control panels. ECBID completed the installation of the gates and hoists in March 2022.

The ECBID anticipates project completion during the 2023 winter season. New corbels are needed before the radial gates and hoists can be installed.
