Big Wood River Diversion Dam (Diversion 45) Remediation and Fish Passage Project

Reclamation proposes to provide WaterSMART funding for the Wood River Irrigation District 45 and Triangle Irrigation District Board of Control to rehabilitate aging water delivery infrastructure. The proposed action would consist of three main components: 1) stabilization of the existing Diversion 45 dam structure and incorporation of a notch for hydraulic downstream transport of sediment at high flows and upstream fish passage at low flows; 2) construction of a downstream rock ramp to restore a more natural gradient profile, stabilize the stream bed below the dam, and promote vertical channel stability; and 3) post-construction site reclamation and monitoring.

The analysis of the alternatives is documented in the final environmental assessment and finding of no significant impact.
