Reclamation initiates Sites Excess Capacity Contract public negotiation sessions

MAXWELL, Calif. – The Bureau of Reclamation announces the beginning of public negotiation sessions with the Sites Project Authority for an Excess Capacity Contract for the proposed Sites Reservoir Project, a new 1.5 million acre-foot offstream reservoir approximately 10 miles west of Maxwell, CA for water storage, conveyance, and service. The Excess Capacity Contract supports the reservoir project by outlining the terms and conditions to which each party must adhere regarding the conveyance of water through federal facilities.   

 The following negotiation session will be held at the Sites Authority’s Office, 122 Old Hwy 99W, Maxwell, CA 95955: 

 June 23, 2026 – 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

 The public is welcome to attend and will have the opportunity to provide comments regarding this contracting action. Participation instructions and the proposed contract will be available at each session.
