SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Bureau of Reclamation will open the Delta Cross Channel Gates this weekend to improve recreational boating access in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.

The gates are scheduled to open on Saturday, June 6 at 10 a.m. and will remain open through Monday, June 8, at 10 a.m.

The temporary opening will provide enhanced access for boaters traveling between the Sacramento River and the central Delta. Following this weekend, the gates will return to normal operations and close on Monday morning.

Reclamation coordinates gate operations with resource agencies to balance water quality, fishery protection, flood control, and recreational opportunities throughout the Delta.

Boaters are encouraged to use caution while navigating the area and remain aware of changing water conditions and vessel traffic.
