Yuma, AZ –Construction work by the Bureau of Reclamation began recently to repair and improve a maintenance road adjacent to the Bypass Canal between County 15th and the southern International Boundary.

Signs in the area will divert motorists from the maintenance road to a contiguous levee road. The equipment staging for the project will be in Reclamation’s fenced stockpile at the intersection of County 15th and the Levee Road.

The repair work is expected to be completed by early March 2024.

The road is primarily used by Reclamation’s operations and maintenance staff, the Customs-Border Patrol, and the public for canal access, recreation, and farming purposes.

Questions or comments about the project should be directed to Doug Hendrix, Public Affairs Specialist, with Reclamation’s Lower Colorado Region at (702) 293-8391 or via email at dhendrix@usbr.gov.
