Reclamation to test emergency sirens at its Leadville Plant

LOVELAND, Colo. The Bureau of Reclamation will test the emergency siren system at its water treatment plant near Mountain Valley Estates in Leadville, Colorado on October 11, 2023, at 11:00 a.m.

The siren will blast three times; afterwards, instructions in English and then Spanish will broadcast and repeat. Again, this will only be a test to confirm system functioning. 

The emergency siren warning system is an important part of Reclamation’s Leadville Mine Drainage water treatment plant Emergency Action Plan. The siren serves to alert the surrounding community in the unlikely event of an incident which could potentially affect public safety. Reclamation is required to test the siren function every year.

La Oficina de Bureau of Reclamation probará el sistema de sirenas de emergencia en la planta de tratamiento de agua cerca de Mountain Valley Estates en Leadville, Colorado, el 11 de Octubre de 2023, a las 11:00 a.m.

La sirena sonará tres veces; las instrucciones en Inglés y luego en Español se transmitirán y luego se repetirán. Nuevamente, esto solo será una prueba para confirmar el funcionamiento del sistema.

La sirena de emergencias es unaparte importante del Plan de Acción de Emergencias de

Leadville Mine Drainage Tunnel Water Treatment Plant. La sirena sirve para alertar a la comunidad en circunstancias inesperadas de algún incidente que podría afectar la seguridad pública. Es un requerimiento anual para probar la función de sirenas
