David Kresin, P.E.
DENVER – The Bureau of Reclamation announced the selection of David Kresin, P.E., as chief of the Civil Engineering Services Division 1 at the Technical Service Center in Denver, Colorado. Civil Engineering Services Division 1 provides technical expertise in plant structures for powerplants, pumping plants, buildings; water conveyance including canals and pipelines; civil structures like roads and bridges; and water treatment. Kresin will start his new position on August 14, 2023.
"The Technical Service Center provides unparalleled engineering and science services supporting Reclamation's mission delivering reliable water and power to the West," said Chief Engineer David Raff. "Mr. Kresin will continue the Technical Service Center’s customer service focused activities and provide new and innovative leadership ensuring cost effective engineering solutions to western water needs."

"He has a sound understanding of Reclamation, the work performed by the Technical Service Center to support Reclamation’s mission and has a passion for the work performed by Civil Engineering Services Division 1.”
Dave joined Reclamation in 2008 as a structural engineer with the Building Seismic Safety Program in the Structural Analysis Group, and then moved to the Plant Structures Group where he became the Group’s manager in February 2021. During his Reclamation career, Dave has been a team leader and team member on many planning studies, final designs, and construction jobs and has gained a broad understanding of Reclamation projects and Technical Service Center clients. Prior to Reclamation, Dave was a structural engineer at Sargent & Lundy for 8 years working on powerplants.
Kresin was born in Germany and grew up in Illinois. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, and a Master of Science degree in structural engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. He has been a registered professional engineer since 2000. He is a family man that loves to build furniture in his workshop and climb the mountain peaks of Colorado and beyond.
