The Technical Lead coordinates all of the technical related activities and acts as the Regional Climate Change Coordinator. The Technical Lead collaborates with the Planning and Policy Leads regularly, coordinates and leads monthly Regional meetings at which all Regional climate change related efforts are discussed, and participates in regularly scheduled external meetings at which climate change related efforts are shared. The Technical Lead represents the Region on the Westwide Climate Risk Assessment Implementation Team, led by the Policy and Administration Office, at regularly scheduled meetings to share Regional activities with other representatives from across Reclamation. The Technical Lead works directly with the Public Affairs staff to develop communications about climate change related efforts and coordinates as needed with other Leads.

  1. Manages and/or leads technical analyses of studies related to climate change
  2. Coordinates multi-agency studies and efforts, collaborates with other federal, state and local agencies, tribal organizations, universities, and research organizations in the US and Canada at various regularly scheduled meetings;
  3. Reviews and disseminates documentation on Global Climate Model projection development, use of hydrologic models, and processing of water resource models and ensuring technical staff are made aware
  4. Leads or participates in multiple sub-groups of the WWCRA Implementation Team including analysis of agricultural demands, reservoir evaporation, or development of work plans to conduct various activities (e.g., online processing of CMIP5 hydroclimate data).
