Draft Resource Management Plan for Keith Sebelius Lake Released for Public Comment

The Bureau of Reclamation has developed the draft Resource Management Plan (RMP) for Keith Sebelius Lake in northwest Kansas. Reclamation is seeking comments from the public regarding the administration and management of Keith Sebelius Lake and surrounding lands, including Prairie Dog State Park and Norton Wildlife Area.
The draft RMP is available for public review and comment at the locations shown below. Comments will be accepted through September 1, 2003. The draft RMP is a comprehensive document developed to guide Reclamation and the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks in managing land and water resources at Keith Sebelius Lake. The overall goal of the RMP process is to develop and implement a 20-year management plan that defines long term management goals and objectives designed to address the needs of project users while ensuring the protection of the resources at Keith Sebelius Lake.
Part of the Pick-Sloan Missouri Basin Program, Keith Sebelius Lake is located 2.5 miles southwest of Norton, Kansas. Norton Dam impounds water from Prairie Dog Creek to form Keith Sebelius Lake. The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks is responsible for administration and management of Keith Sebelius Lake and surrounding lands.
