Reclamation Invites Public to Forum on Aurora Proposal

Pueblo - The Bureau of Reclamation will host a public open house, informational meeting and public forum on Thursday, January 29. The meeting and forum will focus on the Fryingpan-Arkansas Project and the Aurora request for a long-term contract currently under review.

The meeting will be held on the Colorado State University, Pueblo campus in the Occhiato Student Center's West Ballroom. The Student Center is on the north end of the campus next to the Massari Arena. It will begin at 6:30 p.m. and end around 9:00 p.m.

From 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Reclamation will host an open house with poster sessions and staff available for one-on-one conversations.

The informational meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. The agenda includes: the role of the Federal government including the scope and history of the Fryingpan-Arkansas Project; the Aurora proposal; and a review of the National Environmental Policy Act.

A public forum for questions and comments will follow the presentations. Members of the public are invited to sign in to speak about issues of concern.
