The Bureau of Reclamation's Rapid City Field Office reports the boat ramp at Rocky Point on the Belle Fourche Reservoir (also known as Orman Dam) will be usable only by smaller boats during Labor Day weekend. The boat ramp is extended as far as it can go to the water's edge. The reservoir is 21 feet down and continues to drop 2 to 3 inches per day. The extreme hot weather and normal irrigation demands are forecasted to affect reservoir water levels into early September.

For information regarding Belle Fourche Reservoir issues, please contact Jeff Nettleton, manager of the Rapid City Field Office of the Bureau of Reclamation, at (605) 394-9757.
