Title: | Poso Creek Integrated Regional Water Management Plan and 25-Year Groundwater Banking, Transfer, and Exchange Program |
---|---|
Summary: | Reclamation proposes to approve a 25-year groundwater banking, transfer, and exchange program as part of the Poso Creek Integrated Regional Water Management Plan which would allow the Poso Creek Regional Water Management Group (RWMG) to take advantage of water management opportunities during wet periods and the availability of surplus (at the time) surface water supplies. All CVP water that is banked, exchanged, or transferred would be kept within the Region and within the CVP authorized place-of-use.As a result, the RWMG members would be able to more effectively manage the Regions collective water supply and would have the enhanced ability to store surplus surface water supplies (at that time) within the Region which has capacity to absorb the supplies (with a coincident demand) at the time the supply is available. March 1, 2017; Proposed project amendment to include San Joaquin Municipal Utility District and 100,000 acre-feet per year to the program. |
