The 17th C.A.S.T. for Kids event on Shasta Lake, located in Northern California, was held on Saturday, June 10th, 2017.

Twenty-three excited, special kids headed out for a morning of fishing and fun on what ended up being a picture-perfect day.

The fish were really biting, and many of the children were able to catch their own fish. After a day on the lake, everyone returned with a huge smile on their faces.

During the BBQ lunch provided by the Redding Elks Lodge, the excitement of the morning’s adventure was heard through the excited stories shared by the kids at each table. They were bubbling with all kinds of great fish stories!

This day is also about creating new friendships, making memories, and connecting children with disabilities and disadvantages, and their families, to the great outdoors.

The special bond between boat captains and their new fishing buddies will not soon be forgotten.

One thing is for sure… everyone who participated is hooked (get it?), and they’re already looking forward to participating again next year.
