Friant Dam and Millerton Lake

Friant Dam, located 16 miles northeast of Fresno, California, provides flood control, conservation storage, and water releases into the Madera and Friant-Kern canals and delivers water to millions of agricultural lands in Fresno, Kern, Madera and Tulare counties. Visitors enjoy boating, rafting, fishing and other water sports at Millerton Lake, as well as the historic Millerton Courthouse which is located by the lake.
