The Marble Bluff Dam and Pyramid Lake Fishway, Washoe Project, was constructed between 1973 and 1975. The dam is located 3.5 miles upstream from Pyramid Lake. It is a zoned earthfill structure with a height of 22 feet and crest length of 1,622 feet, and it has a capacity of 50 cubic feet per second.

It functions to halt erosion within the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe’s Reservation and controls water used by the Pyramid Lake Fishway. The Pyramid Lake Fishway extends from Marble Bluff Dam about 3 miles improve the ability of the cui-ui and Lahontan cutthroat trout to migrate to their spawning habitats above the dam in the Truckee River.
