Road construction will cause traffic delays at Hoover Dam during two-week period

Media Contact: Bob Walsh, 702.293.8421, rwalsh@lc.usbr.gov

For Release: January 16, 2004

Motorists driving across Hoover Dam will encounter traffic delays from Jan. 18 to Jan. 31, due to lane restrictions resulting from road construction near the dam.

During daylight hours, traffic lanes across the dam will be open in both directions, but subject to intermittent closure to allow construction traffic to pass.

From 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. Pacific Standard Time each day, vehicular traffic will be restricted to only one lane. Traffic control signs and flagpersons will be in place during the restrictions to assist with directing traffic. During this two-week period, drivers should have flexible schedules to allow extra time for delays while driving across the dam.
