BISMARCK, N.D. - The Bureau of Reclamation, in cooperation with Tri-Cities Joint Job Development Authority (TCJJDA), is updating the Resource Management Plan (RMP) for Heart Butte Reservoir, known locally as Lake Tschida.

“This update will serve as the blueprint for the next 10-plus years of recreation development on Reclamation lands surrounding the Heart Butte Reservoir,” said Reclamation’s Dakotas Area Office Manager Joe Hall. “The public’s involvement is key in developing this plan as it’s one of our best ways to gauge what future uses are wanted and needed.”

Through a series of newsletters, Reclamation will keep the public informed of the RMP status and of ways to get involved. Currently, Reclamation and TCJJDA are conducting a recreation user survey until April 1, 2021.

The survey is available online at www.usbr.gov/gp/dkao or http://www.laketschida.com/ or can be found on the Lake Tschida Facebook page. Reclamation and TCJJDA welcome your comments on the RMP.
