The Bureau of Reclamation announces the availability of the Record of Decision (ROD) for the Sacramento River Settlement Contract Final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Anderson-Cottonwood Irrigation District (ACID) and the City of Redding.

The EIS was prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act. A 45-day public review and comment period for the Draft EIS ended on November 15, 2004, and the Final EIS was released on December 16, 2004.

Forty-year contracts with both the City of Redding and the ACID were signed earlier this month. The City of Redding contracted for 2,715 acre-feet of water, and ACID's contract is for 128,000 acre-feet. Reclamation has now signed contracts covering 99.5 percent of the total amount of water included in the Sacramento River Settlement Contracts.

The ROD may be viewed online at http://www.usbr.gov/mp/cvpia/3404c/env_docs/final_eis/index.html. The contracts with ACID and the City of Redding may be viewed at http://www.usbr.gov/mp/cvpia/3404c/lt_contracts/2005_exec_cts_sac_river/index.html.
