Len Schilling Named Reclamation’s Lower Colorado Dams Area Office Manager

BOULDER CITY, Nevada — Reclamation’s Lower Colorado Regional Director Terry Fulp announced the selection of Len Schilling as the Area Manager of the Lower Colorado Dams Office (LCDO) effective Monday, January 9, 2017. As the LCDO Area Manager, Schilling will provide management and operational oversight for Hoover, Davis and Parker Dams and their associated facilities in delivering water to Nevada, Arizona, California and Mexico and providing clean, renewable hydropower. Hoover Dam is also recognized as a national icon with nearly a million visitors to the site every year.

“We are very pleased to have Len leading our flagship project on the Colorado River. He brings a wealth of experience from his Navy background and a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service” said Director Fulp.

Len Schilling joined Reclamation’s Lower Colorado Region in August 2015 as the Chief of the Engineering Services Office (Regional Engineer), serving as lead technical advisor for the Region’s design and construction activities.

Prior to joining Reclamation, Len was the Deputy Director of Public Works at the Naval Base Kitsap in Silverdale, Washington. Naval Base Kitsap Public Works provides all facets of engineering, maintenance, construction and environmental management of $9 billion of facilities in support of 38,000 employees, and 4,000 residents with an annual operating budget of $250 million.

Len is a registered Professional Civil Engineer in the State of Washington. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Washington State University and a Master of Science degree in Engineering from the University of Florida. His military and civilian time in the Navy spans nearly 24 years with several domestic and international posts and a variety of engineering-related responsibilities.
