Reclamation Releases Final Environmental Documents for the Temporary Transfer of Water from the City of Redding’s Settlement Contract to the City of Redding’s Central Valley Project Water Service Contract

SHASTA LAKE, Calif. - The Bureau of Reclamation has released final environmental documents on a temporary transfer of Project Water from the City of Redding’s Sacramento River Settlement Contract to the City of Redding’s Central Valley Project Water Service Contract.

This action approves a temporary water transfer of up to 2,000 acre-feet of Project Water in a contract water year to alleviate shortfalls in water supply for M&I needs. This water would be typically transferred in January and February of the contract water year.

The Final Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act and are available at http://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_project_details.php?Project_ID=20561.
