FRENSO, Calif. -- The Bureau of Reclamation has released final environmental documents for the Arvin-Edison Water Storage District and Metropolitan Water District 10-Year Water Transfer/Exchange Program.
The proposed exchange allows operational flexibility by letting Arvin-Edison Water Storage District and Metropolitan Water District exchange Central Valley Project water, State Water Project water, and water stored in groundwater banks to meet their customers’ needs in the most efficient manner. The maximum volume of CVP water exchanged would be 100,000 acre-feet per year.
Reclamation provided the public with an opportunity to comment on the Draft Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact between Nov. 21, 2013 and Dec. 21, 2013. Comments received and responses are included in the Final EA.
The Final EA and FONSI were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act and are available online at http://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_project_details.php?Project_ID=15741. If you encounter problems accessing the document online, please call 916-978-5100 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
