FRESNO, Calif. - The Bureau of Reclamation today released final environmental documents on redirection of floodwater by Delta Lands Reclamation District No. 770 from the Kings, St. John’s and Tule Rivers into the Friant-Kern Canal, a feature of Central Valley Project.

The one-year Warren Act contract allows the District to convey water in Reclamation facilities in order to protect agricultural lands and public improvements in the Tulare Lakebed from floodwaters. The license will allow the district to store, operate, and maintain pumping facilities on federal lands and permit the existing infrastructure to remain in place.

The Final Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act, and are available online at http://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_project_details.php?Project_ID=8881.
