BILLINGS, MONT. -- After a public meeting held this summer, Reclamation has taken steps to provide recreationists with greater access to the Milk River.

"Reclamation not only has a responsibility for public safety, but must also ensure the security of facilities," said Mike LaFrentz, Marias-Milk Rivers Division Manager. "After listening to comments from the public and evaluating the situation, Reclamation has determined that our safety and security needs can be met while accommodating additional public access."

Reclamation will begin by constructing fencing on the south side of the Milk River, allowing recreationists to enjoy greater access to the Milk River. The construction is planned to be completed this winter.
