Final Environmental Documents for the Sacramento Municipal Utility District Warren Act Contract Available

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Bureau of Reclamation has released the Final Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact for the interim renewal Warren Act contract for the Sacramento Municipal Utility District’s conveyance of up to 15,000 acre-feet of non-Central Valley Project water for municipal and industrial uses. The 30-day public comment period for the Draft EA ended on December 17; no comments were received on the document.
Reclamation proposes to approve a Warren Act contract for the conveyance, within a 26-month period, of up to 15,000 acre-feet of SMUD’s non-CVP water annually. The conveyance of water would be through the Folsom South Canal at Nimbus Dam for municipal and industrial uses within SMUD’s service area at Rancho Seco in southeastern Sacramento County.
