Reclamation Releases Environmental Document on Cawelo Water District Calloway Canal Lining Project

FRESNO, Calif. –The Bureau of Reclamation has released for public review an Environmental Assessment of a proposed canal lining project that would be partially funded with a CALFED Water Use Efficiency Project grant.  

Under the proposed action, Reclamation would provide grant funding to Cawelo Water District for lining a portion of the Calloway Canal near Bakersfield, Calif., to reduce seepage of water.

The CALFED Bay-Delta Program is a 30-year program among 25 federal and state agencies with responsibility in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. CALFED Water Use Efficiency Program grants provide matching funds for water conservation projects.
