Canyon Ferry Announces Summer Campground Fees

BILLINGS, MONT. -– Reclamation announced that the Canyon Ferry Field Office would begin collecting fees for group shelters and campsites at Canyon Ferry Reservoir, beginning May 11, 2012.

Overnight Camping Fees:

  • Campsites at Chinamen's, Jo Bonner, Hellgate, and White Earth Campgrounds are $10.00 per night with one sleeping unit per campsite.
  • Campsites at Court Sheriff and Riverside Campgrounds are $15.00 per night with one sleeping unit per campsite.

Group Shelter Reservations:

Parties wishing to reserve a shelter for the 2012 recreation season must submit a request form with a non-refundable application fee or $10.00 check, cash, or money order to the Canyon Ferry Office by close of business on February 15, 2012. The application fee will apply towards the total fee for the successful applicant.

A random drawing will be conducted on February 16. Successful applicants will be notified by mail within 10 days following the drawing. Reservations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis for locations and dates that are still available after the drawing.

Campers who possess a Golden Age or Golden Access card or the Interagency Senior Pass or Interagency Access Pass will receive a 50 percent discount on camping fees. Campgrounds operated by the Bureau of Reclamation that are undeveloped or have dispersed camping are open and free to the public.
