For Release: January 11, 2012

The Bureau of Reclamation has released a Final Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact for Meridian Farms Water Company’s Groundwater Production Element Project, a Sacramento Valley Integrated Regional Water Management Program Grant. The Draft Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact were released for a 30-day public review on September 16, 2011; no comments were received on the document.

Reclamation proposes to provide Sacramento Valley Integrated Regional Water Management Program Grant funding for the installation of one new groundwater well in Meridian Farms Water Company’s (MFWC’s) service area. This project would improve the flexibility and reliability of MFWC’s water supply, particularly during dry and critically dry water years.

The Final Environmental Assessment (EA) and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act and are available online at http://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_project_details.php?Project_ID=8265. If you encounter problems accessing the documents, please call 916-978-5100 (TTY 916-978-5608) or e-mail mppublicaffairs@usbr.gov.
