Reclamation Names New Power Office Manager

The Bureau of Reclamation has named Jane Blair as the new manager for the Power Office located in Salt Lake City, UT, which oversees the operation and maintenance of key hydroelectric power generation facilities in Arizona, Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming.

"Jane has extensive knowledge and expertise in federal and non-federal power issues and a successful track record working with a wide range of stakeholders on complex issues," said Upper Colorado Regional Director, Larry Walkoviak. "Her demonstrated leadership in working with power customers, power marketers, water users, and other stakeholders is invaluable."

As the Power Office Manager, Blair will be responsible for the operation of Colorado River Storage Project hydroelectric power generation facilities which include Flaming Gorge Dam on the Green River near Dutch John, UT; Bue Mesa, Morrow Point, and Crystal dams on the Gunnison River near Montrose, Colo.; and Glen Canyon Dam on the Colorado River near Page, Ariz. In addition, Blair will oversee other Reclamation facilities including Fontenelle Dam on the Green River near Kemmerer, Wyo., and the Upper and Lower Molina powerplants near Grand Junction, Colo.

Blair has served as the Deputy Power Manager since late 2009. She began her career as a civil engineer with Westinghouse Hanford in Richland, Washington. After moving to Salt Lake City in 1979 she went to work for the Wasatch-Cache National Forest. She joined Reclamation in 1981 as a civil engineer in the Upper Colorado Region Division of Design and Construction where she worked until 1989 when she joined the Power Office.

Blair grew up in Detroit, Michigan. She holds a B.S. in civil engineering from Michigan State University and an M.S. in civil engineering from Oregon State University. She is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Utah.
