Craig W. Clark Named Deputy Ethics Counselor at Bureau of Reclamation

Bureau of Reclamation Commissioner Michael Connor named Craig W. Clark as the Deputy Ethics Counselor where he will oversee the ethics program for Reclamation. He began his duties with Reclamation on December 19, 2010.

"It's a pleasure to have Craig join us at the Bureau of Reclamation," said Commissioner Connor. "His past experience at the Office of Surface Mining and U.S. Marine Corps will assist Reclamation and its employees maintain its high standards of honesty, integrity, impartiality and conduct."

Clark joins Reclamation from the Office of Surface Mining, Reclamation and Enforcement where he was the Deputy Ethics Counselor, responsible for all aspects of that agency's ethics program. He brought its ethics advice, financial disclosure, and annual training programs into compliance with Office of Government Ethics regulations. He also was a leader within the U.S. Department of the Interior ethics community by heading the group responsible for the 2011 annual ethics training and starting an initiative to re-design the ethics website.

While serving in the U.S. Marine Corps and now the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve as an Attorney he has served various roles relevant to his new position including serving as the Ethics/Civil Law Attorney for the Family Advocacy Committee and Western Recruiting Region responsible for coordinating, developing and implementing ethics policies, procedures and practices.

He graduated from the University of Colorado in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and History. He continued at the University of Colorado where he received his Juris Doctor degree in 2003. Clark is certified by the Office of Governmental Ethics in multiple areas of practice and is licensed to practice law in the state of Colorado.
