Reclamation Announces Second Session to Negotiate New Repayment Contracts for Central Valley Project Friant Division

The Bureau of Reclamation will hold the second public session to negotiate new repayment contracts with existing long-term water service contractors in the Friant Division of the Central Valley Project.  By December 31, 2010, Reclamation is authorized and directed to convert the existing Friant Division long-term water service contracts to repayment contracts under mutually agreeable terms and conditions pursuant to Section 9 (d) of the Reclamation Project Act of 1939 and the San Joaquin River Restoration Settlement Act (Part I, Title X of the Omnibus Public Land Management Act of 2009, Public Law 111-11, March 2009).  The converted contracts will have accelerated repayment provisions to make funds available for implementing the Settlement Act.

The Friant Division, Hidden Unit, and Buchanan Unit contractors include:

  • Delano-Earlimart Irrigation District

  • Garfield Water District
  • International Water District
  • Lewis Creek Irrigation District
  • Lindsay-Strathmore Irrigation District
  • Madera Irrigation District
  • Porterville Irrigation District
  • Shafter-Wasco Irrigation District
  • Stone Corral Irrigation District
  • Terra Bella Irrigation District
  • Chowchilla Water District
  • City of Lindsay
  • County of Madera
  • Exeter Irrigation District
