Three Public Meetings Planned for Minidoka Dam Spillway Replacement Draft EIS

The Bureau of Reclamation will hold three public meetings to present the Minidoka Dam Spillway Replacement Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for public review. It outlines proposed alternatives to prevent structural failure of the existing spillway and headworks at the dam which was constructed in 1909, and is located on the Snake River east of Rupert, Idaho. In addition, proposed special use areas, which will change some historic access to the dam, spillway, and associated facilities, are evaluated in the Draft EIS.

Who: The Bureau of Reclamation, Snake River Area Office.

What: Minidoka Dam Spillway Replacement Draft Environmental Impact Statement public meetings.

When: Each public meeting will run from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Where:

- January 12: Red Lion Inn, 475 River Parkway, Idaho Falls, Idaho - January 13: Cotton Tree Inn, 1415 Bench Road, Pocatello, Idaho - January 14: Fairfield Inn, 230 West 7th Street North, Burley, Idaho
