Media Contact: Jeffrey McCracken, 916-978-5100, jmccracken@mp.usbr.gov

For Release: October 29, 2004

On October 1, 2004, the Bureau of Reclamation made available for public review and comment the Draft Sacramento River Settlement Contractors Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). Appendix C of the Draft EIS contains three contracts: (1) USBR Exhibit 17, the negotiated version that forms the basis for the preferred alternative; (2) USBR Exhibit 1, the version first proposed by Reclamation that forms the basis for Alternative 2; and (3) USBR Exhibit 3, which is Reclamation's response to Contractor Exhibit 1, Draft Standard Irrigation District Form, dated May 31, 2002. Contractor Exhibit 1 is the Contractor's initial proposal and is the basis for Alternative 3, as explained in Chapter 2 of the Draft EIS.

Due to a collation error, rather than Contractor Exhibit 1, USBR Exhibit 3 was included as part of Appendix C. Contractor Exhibit 1, which has been available to the public online or upon request since May 2002, is located online at www.usbr.gov/mp/srsc/docs/CtrExh1-Dft-StandIrrigForm5-31-02.pdf. A revised Appendix C is available online at www.usbr.gov/mp/cvpia/3404c/index.html, click on Draft EISs, and scroll to Draft Environmental Impact Statement for Renewal of Sacramento River Settlement Contracts - Revised Appendix C.

For additional information or to request a copy of the revised Appendix C and/or the Draft EIS, please contact Mr. Buford Holt, Reclamation, at 530-276-2047, TDD 530-275-8991. Additional information on the contract renewal process is available online at www.usbr.gov/mp/cvpia/3404c/index.html.
