For Release: January 11, 2008

The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) is temporarily closing the intersection of Calle Agua Salada and Levee Road, located just west of the Yuma Desalting Plant. Reclamation maintenance crews will be working in that area the week of January 14th to install a new water line under the protection levee. The work is scheduled to be completed by the end of the week.

Motorists desiring access to the north Cocopah Reservation housing area should approach from the east by turning left off Strand Avenue that leads to the Cocopah Golf Course and Resort complex. Traffic delays may occur near the construction site from heavy equipment operations. While in the area motorists are urged caution and should watch out for moving equipment vehicles like backhoes and dump trucks.

Warning signs will be located just off 8th Street before the entrance to Calle Agua Salada and at the north approach from the protection levee. Traffic restrictions in the area will be in effect daily.
