Reclamation Announces A Proposed Warren Act Contract with El Dorado Irrigation District

The Bureau of Reclamation and El Dorado Irrigation District have completed negotiations for a Warren Act contract for the use of Reclamation's Folsom Reservoir to convey up to 4,560 acre-feet of non-project water annually when excess capacity exists. The contract has a term of 40 years and is available for a 60-day public review and comment period. Reclamation will not execute this contract until the Endangered Species Act, Section 7 consultation process for the Central Valley Project Operations Criteria and Plan is complete.
The Warren Act of February 21, 1911 authorized the United States to execute contracts for the conveyance and storage of non-project water in Federal facilities when excess capacity exists.
