Media Advisory for Yakima River Basin Water Storage Feasiblilty Study

Who: The Bureau of Reclamation and Washington Department of Ecology.

What: Public open houses and scoping meetings have been scheduled to request input and answer questions regarding the Yakima River Basin Water Storage Feasibility Study.

When: January 23, 2007. Open Houses: 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.; and 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Scoping Meetings: 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.; and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Where: Yakima Convention Center, 10 North 8th Street in Yakima, Washington.

Why: To provide the public an opportunity to ask questions and provide comments on the alternatives being studied as part of the Yakima Basin Storage Study. The public scoping meetings are held in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA).

How: Written comments will be taken at the meeting, however, those unable to attend can submit comments through January 31, 2007, to: Bureau of Reclamation, attn: David Kaumheimer, 1917 Marsh Road, Yakima WA 98901-2058, or fax: (509) 454-5650.
