As part of an effort to improve efficiency of the Central Valley Project (CVP), help ensure reliable and safe water supplies for a variety of consumptive and environmental purposes, and accommodate the growing water needs throughout the state, Reclamation’s Mid-Pacific Region has several planning investigations underway for potential water storage and conveyance projects.

The investigations are carefully examining the potential environmental benefits and consequences that might result from a new or improved water storage or conveyance project. 

Storage and conveyance investigations currently underway include:

  • North of the Delta Off-stream Storage (NODOS)
  • Los Vaqueros Reservoir Expansion
  • Shasta Lake Water Resources Investigation
  • Upper San Joaquin River Basin Storage Investigation
  • South Delta Improvements Project – Stage 1
  • Delta-Mendota Canal/California Aqueduct Intertie Project
  • Delta-Mendota Canal Recirculation Project
  • San Luis Low Point Improvement Project
